every so often, i restart this blog. i think it's good to look back over things and then see how far i've come in life. once i've done that, i erase it all and start over. not so much as to get rid of the past, but more to start fresh. i'm sure there will be a time in my life when i don't want to start it all over, but until that time, i shall continue.
i'm trying to make a concentrated effort to eat better foods, more real foods, less processed and less sugar. it's hard. real hard. incorporating "real foods" in to more diet conscious foods is not extremely easy. you would think it would be, but it's not. it's easy to be "diet" foods. the bad part is that they are generally chalked full of bad additives. you end up better eating the real thing, just less of it. it is, again, not easy to say i'm going to eat the full fat stuff b/c what makes the low fat, low fat, is bad for you, so eat the fatty version and you'll be better off in the long run. oh the conundrum!
i hate that so much of life is consumed by food, but that's just how it has to be these days. i spend a lot of my time either doing my, wonderfully amazingly super fun, boot camp and watching what i eat. admittedly, i've been slacking on the watching what i eat part. unfortunately, it's not cheap to eat healthy and organic, etc.
so in an effort to be better i'm collecting recipes, from friends and other websites, and some of them modifying to make more "real" friendly. so here's one of the first i'd like to try. i'll post the end result once i finish it.
"Point-less" Meals: Chicken Parmesan Burgers
so for this i need some local ground chicken
maggie has a great recipe for the ciabatta rolls
maybe i can make a homemade marinara sauce
then there's the organic cheeses
and the spices i think are self explanatory
i can't wait to make this. it sounds yummy!
